Christmas time in Ogre
Ogre town has earned the title of “Christmas capital” in recent years.
Walking through the city streets, you can feel the special festive atmosphere thanks to the spectacular decorations. The city center shines in countless lights wrapped around tree trunks and branches, an alley of light balls has been created in the city square. A little further from the center, within walking distance, children and adults are delighted by the carriage of the former Russian queen Catherine I, made of 60,000 Christmas lights. Also, illuminated giant angels can be found at every church in Ogre district.
The new light object "The Star of Bethlehem" is the largest single-volume Christmas decoration in the Baltic States.
