Description | In 1908, the residents of the Ogre summer house colony decided to build a Forest Chapel. It was a wooden structure with 300 seats, stylistically reminiscent of the sacred buildings of Swiss Alpine architecture. During the First World War, the chapel burnt down. In 1927, a church with 422 seats was built on its ruins. It was made following the traditions of the late neo-Gothic style and the design by Haralds Kundziņš. The church bell was cast at the Schwenn foundry in Riga and decorated with the inscription The living I call, the dead I bewail. To Ogre city church at Christmas. Cast from J. C. Schwenn. Riga, 1930. The church regularly holds concerts of spiritual music. The building is an architectural monument of regional importance.
