Eight hundred year anniversary park and memorial stone

In 1985, celebrating 800 years since the foundation of Ikšķile, the memorial stone created by sculptor Jānis Karlovs was unveiled in the park, in the town centre. The anniversary of Ikšķile was also celebrated in Vatican in relation to the beginning of the spread of Christianity in the Baltics.
