Madliena Local History Museum “Bet tā bija!”(But It Was Like That!)

^{The museum is located on the premises of the former Plātere elementary school built in 1868, in the former centre of Plātere civil parish. The first Latvian press magnate Antons Benjamiņš and composer Kārlis Kažociņš both used to work there as teachers. The name of the museum Bet tā bija! (But it was like that!) precisely describes the lives of those who lived in the parish during the times of different social systems.
