Krasta Promenade
Address | Krasta street, Ogre |
Description |
Krasta promenade is a popular rest area and a place for walking, enjoyed by the locals and visitors of the town. It is also a favoured venue for concerts and festivities. The restored promenade stretches along the river Ogre, revealing a magnificent view of the river and its banks. At the beginning of the promenade, you will find the largest arched pedestrian bridge in Latvia, built in 1966. There is a wooden 100-metre-long footbridge across the river, intended to revive the feeling of the 1920s to 1930s when Ogre was a swimming resort. There used to be a footbridge across the river before, and now it has been brought back. During the winter season, the footbridge is dismantled.
