Devil's Ditch on the Nāružiņa River
Address | Mazozoli Parish, Ogre Municipality |
Description | The Devils Ditch is a 30-metre-long accumulation of large, green moss-covered rocks in a deep and heavily forested part of the Nāružiņa, a 12-km-long tributary of the Ogre River. A legend says that the Devil was carrying these stones in an apron, and when the rooster crowed, he dropped them right into the river. That is how the location got its name. During the summer, the water flows among the stones calmly, but, in spring, the water rushes and foams up over the rocks. |
