Ķeipenes muiža Manor Park

Address Brūveri, Ķeipenes pagasts, Ogres novads
Description

The buildings of the Ķeipenes muiža manor are no longer standing, but its history lives on in the scenic Ķeipenes muiža Manor Park. The manor may have been named after the Prussian canon Kaipen, who acquired the area in the mid-15th century from the Riga City Cathedral chapter (Domkapitel), which had in turn bought the property from Peter von Borch, a vassal of the Livonian Order. In 1743, eight farms were joined together to form the Jaunķeipenes muiža manor. Today, you can admire the Ķeipenes muiža Manor Park, the scenic dendrological plantation of national importance with valuable trees of introduced species, the largest of which are grey walnut trees with a circumference of 2.9 and 3.4 metres. The park was established in the 19th century during the time of the estate's owner, baron von Löwis of Menar. The park has 27 noble trees.
